Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
One of the storied hockey franchises within the province of British Columbia is the Richmond Sockeyes, a Jr. A franchise which operated in the BCHL from 1979 to 1990. Offered are 3 game-worn jerseys from the 1979-81 Sockeyes, beginning with a white with black and red trim gamer, with the large Sockeyes crest sewn on the front and number 16 in red and black double tackle twill sewn on the back and on both sleeves. This jersey, with no size tag in the collar (as is the case with all three), has a scattering of marks throughout, along with some red paint transfer on the back and a few lines of material pull. We have two black Sockeyes gamers, one with a crest and one without, with the crested having number 18 in double tackle twill sewn on the back and on both sleeves, with puckering evident on the back numbers. This gamer shows a scattering of marks and some material pull, along with some unrepaired holes in both sleeves. The uncrested gamer is number 14, with puckering on the back numbers, and some red paint transfer and an unrepaired hole on the right sleeve. The Sockeyes played in the BCHL from 1979 to 1990, finishing first in the league 3 times and capturing the BCHL title in 1987. The franchise would ultimately transfer to Chilliwack in 1990.
