Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Nice duo of gamers from forward Fredrik Modin, including his alternate-captain’s jersey donned during the 2002-03 campaign in Tampa Bay, and his game-used stick from the late-‘90s when he was lacing up with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tagged in the collar as a size 58, Modin’s Lightning jersey shows stains on the team crest, a nice amount of game marks most noticeable on the white areas of the hem, cuffs, and shoulders, and displays a substantial team repair on the right sleeve. Sewn on the inside hem are two patches, one a “Set #2, 2002-02 Cutting Edge/Tampa Bay Lightning” patch, and the other an “NHL/MeiGray 2002-03” patch with numbers that match the accompanying LOA signed by representatives of MeiGray and the NHL. Modin’s Maple Leaf stick from the late-‘90s is a wooden Bauer Supreme which Modin has signed in fine but clear blue ink on the upper shaft, and this gamer has his original tape on the blade and knob, along with “F Modin” stamped on the upper shaft. Lots of marks line this stick, and to note is the repaired broken blade. All in all, a fine duo from a fellow who racked up 898 regular-season NHL games before calling it quits in 2010-11.
