Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Originally from the collection of Ken Morrow is this black custom knee brace with number "6" in marker on the strapping that the Islanders d-man says he wore in the Cup finals back in the Eighties. Measuring approximately 14” in length, this flexible knee brace, similar in some ways to the type Bobby Orr was forced to wear, is completely intact with all strappings and fixtures in place and also shows another handwritten “6” in blue on a piece of the hardware. Morrow, who played on all four Cup-winning Islanders squads in the early-1980s, was also on the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” U.S. Olympic team and is a member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. He endured knee problems while with those great Islanders teams and eventually had to retire in 1988-89 due to his ongoing knee problems, something Orr could certainly relate to.
