Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Fascinating wool creation is a circa late-1940s Omaha Knights USHL game-worn jersey featuring vintage team repairs! This number "3" Knights gamer, a style worn circa 1948-51 in an era when Terry Sawchuk played in Omaha, features the full team name spelled out across the front in sewn-on red and gold double twill. Olympic Detroit tagging in the neck has a size 42 flag tag at the bottom. The number that was originally sewn on the front between "Omaha" and "Knights" is no longer present while the gold twill number on the back remains with a few repairs on the bottom portion of the 3. There are three team repairs on the right shoulder yoke with another below it on the right front to the right of the sleeve seam. We count five more sewing fixes on the left sleeve and a trio on the right sleeve and two more below the H and A on the front. Various unrepaired holes on the jersey do not diminish the display of this awesome game-worn wool jersey from the Detroit Red Wings’ farm team.
