Classic late-1970s Chicago Black Hawks game-worn jersey bears the number 24 worn by All-Star defenseman Doug Wilson throughout his illustrious career in the Windy City. Gunzo and Wilson size 44 tagging remains in the back of the neck and a "78" year tag sewn inside the right front hip indicates that this gamer dates from the 1978-79 season, Wilson's sophomore campaign with the Hawks. There is evidence of a former nameplate, no signs of number or crest alterations and the fight strap is intact. Great game use includes seven team repairs on the front tail alone along with black marks, board burns and red paint transfer. There are six more repairs on the left sleeve and a trio on the right sleeve, which has an unrepaired hole near the cuff. Wilson is listed in the Black Hawks 1978-79 training camp guide as wearing number 24, which he also wore the previous season, his rookie campaign in the NHL.
Greg Vaydik, who wore #24 during the 1976-77 season, is listed as wearing number 24 in the Hawks’ 1977-78 training camp guide, but he did not play with Chicago during the 1977-78 regular season.
Ian McKegney is also listed as having worn #24 for the Black Hawks in 1976-77.
