Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Sandwiched between stints in the NHL was a six-year journey in the WHA with Edmonton and Winnipeg for defenceman Barry Long. The blue durene gamer is tagged in the collar as a Rawlings Size "48" and also has a "Steichens" tag in the hem. This game-worn WHA Oilers beauty features orange on white tackle twill numbers, orange, white and blue tackle twill team crest, and white tackle twill surname letters sewn onto a blue nameplate. Pilling is noticeable on the inside of the jersey, and there's a team repair on the right breast, an unrepaired hole on the right sleeve, two unrepaired holes are on the bottom back, and various marks scattered throughout. Also to note is evidence of an alternate captain's "A" removed from the left breast and evidence of a former nameplate of the same size as the current one. Just a fantastic game-worn jersey from Long and the WHA Oilers.
