Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
The classic hockey film, Mystery, Alaska, starring Russell Crowe and featuring Mike Meyers involves a publicity stunt that turns into the ultimate lopsided competition, as The New York Rangers reluctantly agree to an exhibition playoff against the Mystery, Alaska Eskimos. This professionally-painted Itech goalie mask was worn during the production of the film by actor Brent Stait playing "Kevin Holt". The paint job features a western native motif and all interior padding, backplate and straps are intact. The mask was worn in on-ice scenes that were cut from the final edit of the film but it does show use and wear from game action. Obtained from well-known sports memorabilia dealer Larry Pelliccioni of The Classic Stuff.
