Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Pictured in an early Montreal Canadiens sweater, the legendary Newsy Lalonde actually was skating and scoring for the Vancouver Millionaires when this treasure was first discovered by a smoker. A one-year stint out west saw Newsy lead the PCHA in 1911-12 with 27 goals in 16 games. He then returned to Montreal and three years later helped the Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup. This splendid specimen has rich vibrant colors and no detectable creases. Less-than-perfect centering is to consider, but otherwise, we see this example of card #42 as being in the EX to EX+ range and ready to score rather well with the pro graders.
