Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Born in Yonkers, New York but raised in Toronto, Billy Burch of the Hamilton Tigers was the NHL’s most valuable player and Hart Trophy winner the year this now-coveted prize was discovered in a Maple Crispette product! This example of card #21 is one of just ten to have ever been sent to PSA for inspection and encapsulation and joins two other EX 5s at the front of the Burch “line” on the PSA Population Report. One of only six players to have won both the Hart and Lady Byng trophies during their careers, Burch was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1950, with this Billy awaiting its new owner and his Hall of Fame-caliber encapsulated shrine.
