Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
By far the bright spot during the Boston Bruins’ first NHL season in 1924-25, Jimmy Herberts led the team in scoring and fired 26 goals in 36 games the following year to finish tied for third in league scoring, behind only Nels Stewart and Cy Denneny. This superb Maple Crispette card #7 is tied for first place with two other EX 5 Herberts rookie cards on the PSA Population Report, with a total of 17 having been slabbed by the grading firm in its history. Jimmy, by the way, got his "Sailor" nickname from working as a deckhand on steamers in the Great Lakes during the off-season.
