Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Dandy items from Marcel Paille’s jewelry box highlight this swell lot, including a Waltham Performance watch (some wear, and with no strap) that is engraved “14K” along with “Marcel Paille – Buffalo Hockey Club – American League Champions 58-59.” Joining it are four tie-clips, six tie-tacks and two pairs of cuff links, all with either hockey sticks, skates or players. Goaltender Paille minded the nets for the AHL Buffalo Bisons in the ’58-59 season, squeezed between stints with the New York Rangers, and where he would help the team to first overall in the regular season. Paille ranks second in AHL history with 349 wins and tied for fourth with 36 shutouts. He would also play for the Springfield Indians when the team won the Calder Cup in each of the three years he was there, and ultimately would be inducted into the Springfield Hall of Fame in 1997. Paille passed away in in 2002 at age 69.
