This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Author Charles Coleman's three-volume "The Trail of the Stanley Cup" is a definitive history of hockey and Lord Stanley's trophy from 1893 to 1967, contained within these three black leather-bound books. Only 1,000 copies of this special edition of the first two books were presented to important hockey figures; the third was limited to 1,500 books. The books in this complete set are individually numbered: Volume 1 is no. 956, Vol. 2 is no. 703, and Vol. 3 is no. 1216. The highly sought-after books are in their original black casings with gold-colored images of the original Stanley Cup printed on one side. The books remain in excellent condition, while the slipcovers are in rough condition, with the bottom of Vol. 1 unattached, the top and bottom of Vol. 2 unattached, and the lengthwise edge of Vol. 3 now apart.
