Amazing and very rare find is this highly desirable Charlie Conacher 1939 Spalding goal puck from the legendary HOFer's first and only season with the Detroit Red Wings. Nicknamed the Big Bomber for his booming shot, Charlie already had exactly 200 goals to his credit with the Toronto Maple Leafs when he joined the Red Wings in 1938-39. He scored the next eight of his 225 career goals for Detroit, including the one he tallied against the Rangers with this puck on January 19, 1939. Wonderfully preserved and magnificent Spalding NHL official game puck has a vintage paper attached to it that reads, "Puck with which Charlie Conacher scored goal from outside of blue line, 1/19/39 1st score, Final Wings 4 Rangers 3" in fountain pen. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA. The puck has a small chip on the edge of the Spalding face with the attached paper notation and a mark on the side of the puck below that. There is a gouge on the edge on the opposite face, none of which diminishes the display of this fantastic puck, an incredibly rare opportunity to pick up one scored by the most legendary goal scorer of the 1930s.
