Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Although undated, the fountain pen handwriting on the cover and inside page tells the story, as this Detroit Olympia program, featuring a matchup between the Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs, was from the night of April 14, 1948 when the Leafs clobbered the Wings 7-2 to sweep the series in 4 games and hoist the Stanley Cup. Measuring 8 ½” x 11”, this 30-page program with Jack Adams on the cover is complete and intact, with a few small tears on the front and back covers, some edge wear and corner creasing, and otherwise no other issues to report. Simply a fine Detroit program featuring a young Gordie Howe in his second season, along with mates Lumley, Lindsay, Abel and Kelly etc, up against the likes of Broda, Stanowski, Bentley, Barilko, Apps and company.
