Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Complete and fully intact is this April 7, 1938 Maple Leaf Gardens program featuring the Leafs and Black Hawks in game two of the Stanley Cup playoffs, a game in which the Torontonians would win 5-1, although Chicago would eventually hoist the Cup in four games in the best of five. Measuring almost 7" x 10", with all 72 pages ready to be read, it shows no tears or creases, and the only written marks to be found are only on the cover, where "Lucky No. Copy" has been inked in black. A tiny burn-like mark is on the top edge, but all in all, this 1938 Cup finals program has been remarkably preserved, from a time when Broda, Apps, and Jackson starred for the Leafs and Gottselig, Seibert, and Thompson for the Hawks.
