Super Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins proved their first Stanley Cup title was no fluke when they made it back-to-back championships in the spring of 1992! Fabulous personal Stanley Cup trophy is identical to the ones presented to members of the 1991-92 champion Penguins after Mario Le Magnifique won his second straight Conn Smythe Trophy as he propelled Pittsburgh to its second straight Cup win. Playoff series victories over Washington, the N.Y. Rangers and Boston led to a final against Chicago, which the Penguins swept to retain the Cup with a run of 11 straight playoff wins, matching the record set by the Black Hawks that spring! Rising 13" tall from the base, this grail in miniature represents hockey's highest achievement. The names of the "Pittsburgh Penguins, 1991-92" Stanley Cup champions are the same as those that appear on the actual Cup: Lemieux, Jagr, Bowman, Trottier, Francis, Mullen, Stevens, Tocchet, Barrasso, they're all here! This unawarded example was produced by Boffey and remains in magnificent condition overall with rich brown felt covering the bottom of its black wood base. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
