Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Certainly very scarce is this 1940s board game that features a photo of HOFer Lester Patrick on the lid cover as well as players in action from the era. Aside from missing its original pair of dice, this game, manufactured by Toy Creations of New York, retains most of its original contents including two rule sheets and two blank scoresheets, and as a bonus, a 1939-40 Stanley Cup champion Rangers 8” x 10” team photo (some creasing and slight aging) is included. The 13” x 20 ½” game itself has been splendidly preserved, with both cardboard nets intact, no marks on the ice surface, and just two small tears (one in a corner, one behind a net) to mention, while the original lid has two sides which have collapsed, some dirt on the main areas, and two Christmas Cards are attached underneath. All in all, a really cool board game endorsed by the mighty Lester Patrick, who was inducted into the HOF in 1947 and passed away in 1960.
