Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

There were probably 15,000 lumps in throats that Sunday afternoon at the Bell Centre when the great Guy Lafleur suited up for a Canadiens Alumni team to do battle against a squad of NHL Hall of Famers that was part of bittersweet and emotional Lafleur goodbye tour. One last time playing in Montreal, and Flower would fittingly notch three goals in the Habs Alumni win over the HOFers as chants of “Guy, Guy, Guy” echoed through the building. We’ve got ex-Hab Claude Lemieux’s Habs helmet worn off and on during Flower’s farewell tour, signed with black marker by approximately 14 players taking part in the Dec. 5, 2010 game, with Lafleur signing twice – on the visor where he has written “Last Game, Dec. 5, 2010, Guy Lafleur”, and he adds his name again just above the visor. Also signing were Chris Nilan, Sergio Momesso, Rejean Houle, Guy Carbonneau, Mario Tremblay, Yvon Lambert, Gilbert Delorme, Patrick Brisebois, referee Kerry Fraser and others. A memorable night at the Bell, from a tour that began in Sherbrooke, ended in Quebec City, and which also included Guy’s hometown of Thurso.
