Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe, has signed six times on all shapes and sizes of items, including a gigantic red and white “number 9” cloth banner measuring an amazing 110” long by 58” wide which was used at a Howe Charity Fundraiser as the backdrop for photos on May 26th 2012 in Kitchener Ontario, a fundraiser for The Salvation Army. Howe has signed inside the huge “9” in black marker as “Gordon Howe, Mr. Hockey HOF 1972”. Also included is a circa 1946 vintage Turofsky photo of Howe signed in recent years in silver marker which has smudged slightly. The 5” x 7” photo has a small piece missing from the top left corner and some blue ink markings on the bottom border. Joining these is a 1963 Maclean’s magazine with wear on the edges and some slight staining, which Howe has signed in clear blue marker on the cover, plus three reproductions of his 1951-52 rookie card, all signed in bold, black marker.
