Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

There's never been an argument about whether Bobby Orr was one of the best ever because of course he was. In fact, many argue that he was the best. One thing's for sure, no one was like the great Orr, who played the game like poetry in motion. Offered is a game-issued Orr stick, signed on the shaft by Orr in clear blue ballpoint pen as "To Gilles Best Wishes Bobby Orr", and joined nearby by Don Awrey and Ken Hodge signatures. "B. Orr" is stamped on the upper shaft of this wood Victoriaville, as is "Maihot & Freres Inc. Victoriaville, Que.". Further down the shaft, the upper stripes are missing but intact at the bottom. Orr's classic couple of strands of black tape remain on the mark-free blade, and because there's no knob tape, we're selling this as a game-issued stick. What a player. If only his knees would've held up.
