Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Wondrous cream, gold and black wool Boston Bruins uniform dates back to the 1955-56 and 1956-57 seasons and was worn by rookie left-winger Al Nicholson. This vintage uniform from the Original Six era displays two full seasons of washings and use with loads of pilling, unrepaired holes and heavy wear and fading at the two-tone tackle twill back numbers and ancient spoked "B" on the chest. This all-original sweater has the blue rectangular Jim McCarthy Athletic Equipment tag in the tail and the size "46" size label in red on white sewn to one side. What a wonderful sweater! Comes with a very detailed letter of authenticity from Milt Byron of Byron's Hockeyland outlining the history of the shirt and the timeline of this particular style usage including the notation "good chance that this jersey was recycled into pre-season or practice" in the years after it was worn by Nicholson.
