Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard and Yvan Cournoyer game-used sticks are featured amid a rack's worth of twigs from members of the 1960s Montreal Canadiens dynasty that were used to make this unique wood table. Jacques Laperriere and Dick Duff are the other HOFers whose vintage name stamps remain on the shafts of the 22 sticks that were used to make this distinctive folk art piece along with those of the late John Ferguson, and the likes of Provost, Talbot, Gilles and J.C. Tremblay, Harris, Harper, Balon and Roberts, among others. The Lappy stick even has some red goalpost paint transfer on the shaft! The table top measures 29 1/2" x 16 1/2" and the table stands 17 1/2" tall. A 1966 Hudson, Que. newsletter mentions this table was gifted at the time to a pair of visitors from Chicago who were fishing and camping in the area.
