Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2014
Amazing and thought-provoking click of the camera was taken with the 1928-29 Canadiens lined-up outdoors and standing on wooden planks, with a revealing "Lucien Desjardins - 871 Mont Royal" in white in the lower right corner. What great looks at the likes of Lepine, Herb Gardiner, Morenz, Hainsworth, Leduc, Joliat, Mantha, Cecil Hart and Leo Dandurand are offered, with a rare arena open door seen behind goalie Alphonse Lacroix (he replaced Vezina when the latter collapsed in 1925) and Gizzy Hart. In two sections and measuring a total of 5" by just over 19", the photo has a Montreal Star newspaper stamp on the reverse and has survived in remarkable crease-free condition, with minor edge wear. It'll have you looking and looking and smiling and smiling!
