Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2014

Hall of Fame defenseman Harry Howell's New York Rangers Alumni Association ring is a striking 14-karat gold and diamond creation. Howell, who won the Norris Trophy in 1966-67, spent the first 17 of his 21 NHL seasons with the Rangers. Six real diamonds make up the bottom left corner of the Rangers logo on the tableau featuring the team name in raised gold, red enamel paint in the upper right corner and "Alumni Association" on the banner across the bottom. "Harry Howell" is stamped on the left shank and his now-retired "#3" is on the right shank. Nicely preserved size 11 ring with various surface scratches from proud wear weighs in at about 25 grams with "14 MZ" engraved on the inner band. Comes with Harry Howell's signed LOA. Two other Rangers Alumni Association gold and diamond rings we have observed displayed blue enamel paint surrounding the team name and left side of the team crest on the tableau, as well as within the words “Alumni Association” on the banner, though we see no sign of this on Howell’s ring.
