The late John Ferguson, deceased HOFer Gump Worsley and fellow HOFers Beliveau, Henri Richard, Savard, Laperriere, Cournoyer, Lemaire and Duff are among the 1968-69 Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens who have signed amid the four vintage team-signed Habs playoff programs featured from Larry Hillman's collection of 25 Canadiens game programs. Three are team-signed 1969 playoff programs, including a pair from the first round against the Rangers and one from the semi-final against Bobby Orr's Bruins. Among the 21 other programs are the Canadiens' Stanley Cup clinchers in 1958 and 1969! Comes with Larry Hillman's signed LOA. The three team-signed 1969 playoff programs are signed by the same 19 members of the Canadiens. Beliveau, Savard and coach Claude Ruel have all signed in red ballpoint. The remaining signatures in blue ballpoint are Ferguson, Worsley, Richard, Laperriere, Lemaire, Duff, Vachon, Hillman, Harper, Harris, J.C. Tremblay, Provost, Backstrom, Rousseau, Redmond and Bordeleau. All three are nicely preserved with light handling and complete with inserts.
The other team-signed program is from a 1968-69 Canadiens regular season game against New York on March 22. Cournoyer has signed in pencil in the middle. Beliveau, Savard and rookie coach Claude Ruel signed in red ballpoint, while the rest of the 20 autographs are blue ballpoint by Ferguson, Worsley, Richard, Laperriere, Lemaire, Duff, Vachon, Hillman, Harper, Harris, J.C. Tremblay, Provost, Backstrom, Rousseau, Redmond and Bordeleau. Handling with light stains on cover, Complete with insert.
Three 1969 Stanley Cup finals programs include Games 1 and 2 in Montreal, and Cup-clinching Game 4 in St. Louis on May 4. Also included among the other programs is one from the 1958 Stanley Cup final for the Canadiens’ April 20 Cup-clincher at Boston Garden when Hillman was with the Bruins.
The 1958 Stanley Cup-clinching playoff final Boston Garden program has a diagonal crease through the right side of the cover which has a few small creases and a tear in the upper right corner. It is complete with its lineup centerfold featuring the Bruins and Canadiens rosters which have pencil notations on the right page.
Forum programs from the 1969 finals are for Game 1 on April 27, and Game 2 on April 29, both complete with insert featuring Blues and Canadiens lineups in the dated centerfold.
St. Louis Arena program from the Cup-clinching Game 4 of the 1969 final is dated May 4, 1969 on the right page of the centerfold that displays the Blues and Canadiens rosters.
There are also 15 Forum programs from the Canadiens’ 1968-69 regular season, as well as a Forum program from the 1966-67 season for the Canadiens’ February 1 game against Toronto with Hillman in the Maple Leafs’ lineup, and another from the 1970-71 season for the Habs’ January 10 game against Philadelphia with Hillman in the Flyers’ lineup.
