Impressive stack of 43 vintage 1950s La Patrie sports photos feature 11-time Stanley Cup champion Henri Richard, fellow Habs HOFers Elmer Lach, Bert Olmstead and Tom Johnson, and Montreal Royals stars Tommy Lasorda and Junior Gilliam. These full-page color beauties measure roughly 15 3/4" x 11”, torn along one edge as removed from the paper and otherwise uncut. There are two examples of Richard’s 1953 Montreal Junior Canadiens photo and a total of 10 Habs pictures, including Ken Mosdell, Billy Reay, Floyd Curry, Dollard St-Laurent, Paul Meger, John McCormack and Dick Gamble, along with New York Rangers Wally Hergesheimer and Don Raleigh. There is a diagonal crease in the upper portion of Mosdell’s photos, with most of the photos essentially crease-free. Future Hab Jean-Guy Talbot is pictured as a member of the Trois-Rivieres Reds with other soon-to-be NHLers Camille Henry of the Quebec Citadels and Eddie Litzenberger of the Montreal Royals included along with Roger Leger and Skippy Burchell (Montreal Royals), Jean Marois (Quebec Aces), Andre Corriveau (Valleyfield Braves), Del Topoll (Quebec Frontenacs) and Marcel Pelletier (Chicoutimi Sagueneens). Lasorda, Gilliam and Don Hoak are among the 10 Montreal Royals baseball photos that also include Don Thompson, Hampton Coleman, Ed Roebuck, Tom Hackett, Walter Fiala, Charlie Thompson and Mal Mallette. There are two photos of Georges Maranda of the Quebec Braves, who went on to pitch with the San Francisco Giants and Minnesota Twins, among the five Quebec Provincial League baseball photos that also include Jacques Monette (St-Jean), John Wingo (Trois-Rivieres) and Solly Mohn (St-Hyacinthe). Tennis player Henri Rochon, wrestlers Yvon Robert and Larry Moquin and boxers Laurent Dauthuille and Armand Savoie round out this lot that offers cool possibilities.
