Whichever team won the 1954 Allan Cup title, a heady task and responsibility awaited them on the world stage. The Penticton Vees of the Okanagan Senior Hockey League beat the Sudbury Wolves for the Allan Cup. The Vees came back to win three straight games after falling into a 3-1 hole to claim the best-of-seven series and the right to represent Canada at the 1955 world championships. This lot of seven Vees items features a total of 10 photos overall. Four frames house action shots from the Vees' hardfought 1954 Allan Cup final against Sudbury, including one wide frame that features an action sequence of four photos. In addition to the shots of great game action, one of the framed photos shows Vees players converging on their goalie with fans celebrating their victory in the background. Another framed photo shows a team executive speaking to reporters, while two other photos depict more administrative off-ice preparations for the team's showdown on the international stage. One year after the Soviet Union's stunning upset, the hard-hitting Penticton squad restored Canada to its rightful place atop the hockey world when it roared undefeated through the 1955 world championships, including a 5-0 win over the U.S.S.R. in the final game, to secure the title.
