Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
The leader at the 1924 Olympic Games with 36 goals and 50 points in five games(!) to pace Canada to the gold medal, Harry Watson is accurately described on the back of this exceptional NM 7 card as “one of the most outstanding amateur hockey players in Canada.” At PSA, this Harry is also one of the most outstanding Watson cards to have ever been encapsulated by the company, joining two other 7s at the front of the Watson line on the Population Report and ahead of 16 others. Complete with its original coupon, which was designed to be cut off and sent in with others in exchange for prizes, the card pictures a guy who never wanted to turn pro but who was still recognized by and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
