Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
The famous 3-3 tie between the Montreal Canadiens and Russia's Central Red Army team, played on New Years' Eve, 1975 at the Montreal Forum, is still widely considered one of the greatest hockey games ever played. Its first star was Army goaltender Vladislav Tretiak, who made many difficult saves to keep his team in a contest that saw them outshot 38-13 by the Canadiens, whose roster of stars would soon lead them to four straight Stanley Cup triumphs. Presented here is a complete program from that unforgettable game, in pleasing EX+ condition, along with an equally sharp full ticket stub. A must-have for any fan of international hockey, and those who still remember watching this magnificent battle unfold, now nearly forty years ago.
