Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Awesome Maurice Richard mid- to late-1950s CCM game-used stick is signed by the late Montreal Canadiens icon. The founding member of the NHL's elite 50-goal and 500-goal clubs, Richard won eight Stanley Cups, including the Habs' record run of five in a row from 1956-60, the last four with Richard claiming Lord Stanley's silverware as the Canadiens' captain! The Rocket placed a black marker autograph on one side of the shaft in the latter stages of his life. "M Richard 9" is stamped on this CCM Professional game-used stick which retains Maurice's original tape job on the knob. There are remnants that show the outline of the Rocket's tape job that was removed from the blade which displays the CCM logo on the front and "Extra Special" on the backhand side. Solid Richard stick with nice game wear. Black marks low on the shaft and on the blade, which has a small gouge in the top edge towards the heel. Wear along the bottom edge at the heel with a few small cracks and chips. The stripes are missing on the lower shaft.
