Classic Auctions is pleased to have been selected by the Russian Ice hockey Federation to offer at auction a complete set of jerseys worn by the young phenoms during the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships held in Alberta over this past holiday season. Each jersey will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, Hall-of-Fame goaltender Vladislav Tretiak.
This red Team Russia uniform was worn by Windsor forward Alex Khokhlachev during the 2012 World Junior Championships. The jersey was worn on December 29th, 2011 at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as the Russians defeated Team Latvia by a score of 14-0 in the preliminary round. Alex was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 2nd round of the 2011 draft and now plays for the Spitfires of the OHL. He scored twice against Latvia including a powerplay goal in the third frame. Manufactured by Nike, the number 19 air-knit jersey is a size 56 and features an IIHF patch on the lower rear hem and Nike's inventory barcode label screened inside. Game wear includes a pair of big black stick marks scuff up the back numbers and a solid board burn on the left sleeve.
