This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
The original signatures of 1993 World Series hero Joe Carter and Toronto Blue Jays Hall-of-Famer Roberto Alomar are featured in this eclectic lot of four sports frames, which include a panoramic fish-eye photo of the opening faceoff at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, a signed Scott Goodyear Indy 500 print, and a collection of 15 Quebec Nordiques’ playoff tickets from 1995. Carter has signed on a Game 6 postmarked envelope in a set of commemorative collectible envelopes from the Jays’ second straight World Series win, this time in six games over the Philadelphia Phillies. Alomar and first baseman John Olerud have signed the Game 1 envelope, World Series MVP Paul Molitor has signed the Game 3 envelope, and Phillies center fielder Lenny Dykstra has signed the Game 4 envelope in this set displayed on a green matte background. The envelopes are arranged within a white home plate outline on the green matte background of this 23” x 27 1/2” frame, which has had a small plaque at the bottom of the matte removed as well as the glass. Goodyear has placed a dedicated black marker signature on a rendering of his sensational duel with Al Unser Jr. at the finish of the 1992 Indianapolis 500. The 28” x 40” frame has a chipped bottom right corner. The entire 360-degree panorama of the interior of the Air Canada Centre is displayed on a 10x37 photo. The “148/1000” limited edition notation is written on this wide print mounted in a 17 1/2" x 45” frame as the Leafs square off against the Canadiens in their new home. Rounding out the lot is a 29” x 22” frame which displays 15 of the last 16 playoff tickets issued by the Quebec Nordiques in 1995, with only the third home game at the Colisee from the Nords’ first-round loss to the New York Rangers missing.
