Led by the sensational play of Bobby Orr, the Boston Bruins recaptured the Stanley Cup in the spring of 1972 by defeating the Rangers in a 6-game final. Orr contributed 24 playoff points which included, like in 1970, the Cup-winning goal. Orr received a spectacular ring like this replica to commemorate the Bruins' exploits. The tableau features 17 cubic zircons while "Boston Bruins" is above and "World Champions" below. One shank displays an image of hockey's ultimate prize, includes "1972" as well as the results of the finals and the words "Stanley Cup Champions." The image of the Prince of Wales Trophy is on the opposite shank with "B. Orr" above and Bobby's number "4" beneath. Inscribed on banners are "League" and "Champions." The size 11 ring is a whopping 40 grams and crafted in sturdy brass then plated in polished Rhodium (a member of the platinum family) to approximate the look of the original rings that were made in white gold. You will be impressed at how sharp the details are and how weighty it feels on your finger. In near-mint condition.
