Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Colorful 100-year old relics offer dandy images, with the lacrosse cards highlighted by the presence of a couple of Hockey Hall-of-Famers. Legendary goaltender Paddy Moran, of Quebec Bulldogs' fame, appears on card #75 as a member of the "National de Quebec," while HOF referee Mickey Ion's #68 card pictures him, (he reffed the Howie Morenz memorial game!), with the Tecumseh team. Both are in the P-F range with paper loss to the front of the Moran card. A handful make it to G-VG (#s 17, 37, 44, 48, 71), with the rest coming in at either P, F or G. The 1912 Hassen Triple Folder "end" cards are highlighted by a low grade Frank Chance (paper loss on front), with three others also of the red back variation; Cubs Archer and Foxen and Thomas of the Athletics. Also in the "Fair" neighborhood are black back versions of Becker (Giants), Willett (Detroit) and LaPorte (St. Louis).
