The cardboard darlings that started it all and the prerequisites to any important hockey card shrine are the colorful, captivating cigarette-accompaniers issued by Imperial Tobacco over one hundred years ago. Just two cards are missing here for a complete set, with 20 of the 34 present having been graded VG 3 or higher by PSA. A trio of legends, Frank Patrick (#1), 26-Lester Patrick and 36-Newsy Lalonde, appear in there Renfrew turtleneck sweaters and are all slabbed VG 3, with 8-Art Ross making it to VG+ 3.5 and the other Ross card (#12) at PR 1. Leading the way condition-wise are 17-Bruce Stuart and 24-Skinner Poulin at VG-EX 4, while 28-Paddy Moran is close at VG+ 3.5. Joining the Renfrew stars at VG 3 are #s 4-Holden, 5-Glass, 6, 10-Hyland, 11, 16-Cattarinich, 23-Pitre, 25, 27, 29, 30-Johnson, 31 and 35-Marshall. One Good+ 2.5 is 18-Bawlf, with (7) at Good 2; 2-Lesueur, 9, 13, 14-Dunderdale, 22-Hern, 33-Marshall and 34-Ridpath. At FR 1.5 are #s 21-Laviolette and 32, while PR 1 examples are 7-Walsh, 19 and 20-Russell. Cyclone Taylor and 3-Roberts are the cards required for completion.
