Featured here are a 1945 Maple Leaf Gardens playoff program signed by the Stanley Cup champions and a 1962 letter signed with initials by Walter Brown, a member of the builders' wing of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Playoff hero Frank McCool and HOFers Day, Jackson, Pratt, Schriner and Kennedy are among the 15 pencil Leafs autographs on the Lorne Carr photo on the cover of the March 10, 1945 program. Please see our website for more information. The 15 lead pencil Cup champion 1944-45 Maple Leafs signatures are all easily legible with some paler than others. The program from the Leafs’ game against Boston late in the 1944-45 regular season has a taped spine and tears and a few small missing pieces on the back cover, though it is otherwise complete with pencil notations/marking on the roster pages in the centerfold (which has vintage strands of tape placed over each of the three staples).
Brown, who was inducted into the HOF in 1962, two years prior to his death, has twice initialed in blue ballpoint on his July 6, 1962 letter to fellow HOFer Walter Bush on typing paper, once above his name at the end of the letter and also to the left where he has made a handwritten notation.
