A tremendous find and wonderful opportunity for WHA and game-worn jersey enthusiasts is this first year Ottawa Nationals home white sweater worn by defenseman Chris Meloff. Meloff's WHA career amounted to but 28 games with the Nationals in their lone season. Gorgeous red, white and blue knit jersey has an old black, silver and gold Maska company tag in the collar and measures out to size 44. The somewhat crinkled team crest and the numbers on the back and sleeves are in tackle twill and sewn-on. Tie-neck style jersey appears to have the original lace woven through the four eyelets. Light game use with most notably a 1-inch repair at the right elbow and a small circular affair along the rear white hem where a small hole and small run can be spotted. A nameplate removal is to be noted. Stitching at the cuffs has become lightly frayed and there is some staining on the left sleeve to mention, both higher up and down by the cuff. All-in-all, preserved in fabulous condition, this fantastic piece of World Hockey Association history is truly captivating.
