Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012

Ancient wool sweater, originally worn in the early 1950s by a member of the Quebec Aces. The Senior Aces were a powerhouse with Jean Beliveau leading the roster. Tagged in the collar by Jaydee Knitter, the back reveals a wonderful two-layer felt number. We note one repair on the front of the jersey below the newer replacement team crest, another repair on the left sleeve near the cuff, reddish discoloration visible on the white stripes on the sleeves and noticeable wear showing on the inside of the jersey. Some of the players that did wear number 8 for the Aces in the 1950s are Gilles Thibeault and Marius Groleau.
