Perfect pairing of soapstone carvings from the Canadian North awarded to Team Canada official Sam Simpson for his participation in the 1981 and 1991 Canada Cup tournaments. The darker statue stands 9" in height and depicts an Inuit grasping a seal. The larger piece depicts the visage of a Northern native with a polar bear reaching around from behind. This one measures about 8" x 7" and is quite hefty. A plaque at the base reads "Coupe Canada Cup - 1981" and comes with a latter of authenticity signed by Sam Simpson. The lighter carving is in excellent condition while the other piece has some damage at the base.
