Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012

Oh, what a year it was and oh, what a feeling it must have been for Ken Morrow as he celebrated his team's stunning gold medal victory at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics and got to drink from Lord Stanley's bowl weeks later with the Islanders. Jump ahead three years and we find Ken once more in Stanley Cup celebration! This historic white mesh Isles jersey is conclusively photo-matched to a shot of a grinning Ken hoisting the Cup on the night of the victory in 1983. We match at least five distinctive black marks on the front of the shirt and more marks on the left elbow to those in the photograph. A copy of the picture will accompany the lot. The Sandow mesh is tagged in the collar with number "6" and "83" marked on the label. Triple loop fight straps are there in the tail and the large transitional CCM logo is screened onto the outer hem. Dozens of puck and stick marks letter the front and arms of this well-worn jersey and we note a few good swipes of blue board paint as well. A perfect example of a Stanley Cup Final shirt worn by a true Olympian. From the collection of Ken Morrow, complete with his signed letter of authenticity.
