Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
The Letterman is defined as a classification of high school or college athlete in the United States. We often forget the relative youth of the men who formed the U.S. Olympic Hockey squad that took on the experienced Russian powerhouse in Lake Placid. Ken Morrow was still a college lad in 1979 and this ring proclaims the year on one shank with "Letterman" running down the opposing side. A sculpted hockey player adorns the top near a yellow stone and the wording "Bowling Green State Univ" tells the tale of Ken's schooling. Size 14, by Artcarved in Siladium (a stainless steel alloy used in jewelry), as engraved inside the band. In excellent-plus condition. From the collection of Ken Morrow, complete with his signed letter of authenticity.
