Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
The 1978 National Sports Festival saw hockey teams representing four regions of the U.S.: South (wearing green uniforms), West (red), East (blue) and Midwest (orange). This orange Great Lakes was worn by Ken Morrow as a member of the Midwest roster in 1978. It is noteworthy that coach Herb Brooks used the 1979 tournament to make his selections for the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team and that Ken Morrow took part in both the 1978 and 1979 tournaments. The shirt is a light mesh affair by Champion, tagged in the neck in size 46 with heat-pressed crest, numbers and lettering. A series of black stick marks can be found on the lower front with a few additional marks on the arms. Another nice memento from the collection of former NHLer Ken Morrow, complete with his signed letter of authenticity.
