Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Historic mitts worn by Ken Morrow during the exciting games of the 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid, New York. This well-used matched set of red, white and blue Team USA gloves are made by CCM and have Morrow's number "3" decal on each cuff. Loads of game wear on this pair with scuffing, stick marks and well-worn palms. The original laces run through the eyelets at the cuffs. The extensive wear on these would suggest that the gloves were worn well before tournament play as the Miracle On Ice squad played in numerous matches in 1979 and early 1980 while preparing for the upcoming Olympics. We have conclusively photo-matched these gloves to a black mark over the first "C" of the CCM logo on the left glove and another semi-circular mark that appears both on the glove and again in the photograph showing Ken wearing this exact set. Wow! From the collection of Ken Morrow, complete with his signed letter of authenticity.
