This is the complete, high-grade program for the opening game of the 1937 Stanley Cup Finals, played at Madison Square Garden. Due to the annual circus visit to the Garden, this was the only game in the best of five series played in New York. The league and defending Cup champion Detroit Red Wings were highly favored entering the Final, but the Rangers collected an easy 5-1 win on this night, led by Lynn Patrick's two goals. The series would go the maximum five games, with the Red Wings finally prevailing for their second straight Stanley Cup.
