Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Offered here is a 26-page program from a February 18, 1930 contest between the visiting Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Cougars, won 2-0 by Montreal on a George Hainsworth shutout. The Cougars, who would be re-named the Falcons the following year before finally becoming the Red Wings in 1932, were in their 4th NHL season, and led by star rookie Ebbie Goodfellow. The Canadiens, meanwhile, were just weeks away from their first of two straight Stanley Cup victories, behind 40 goal scorer Howie Morenz and fellow centre Pit Lepine. This vintage program is loaded with photos and features, and is in solid EX condition overall, with a 2" piece removed from a skate ad inside.
