Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012

On September 22, 2001, the National Hockey League's Pittsburgh Penguins travelled up the road to take on their American Hockey League counterpart Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins. Superstar Pens forward Mario Lemieux dressed that night for the farm team, wearing this amazing Wilkes Barre/Scranton jersey during the 2nd period of the match, in his only appearance in a minor league lineup. Lemieux wore at least 3 jerseys during the game and this one has the number "2" in black marker on the collar tagging. Size 56, by SP with Mario's surname crossing the back above his storied number 66. Game wear is quite light, as would be expected, but we do spot a few stick marks on the front and another on the left sleeve. Mario captained the team that night and his "C" is up on the chest. Comes complete with documents of authenticity from Casey Samuelson of Penguins Chronicles.com.
