Captivating photo collage was created for the men who brought New York its first-ever Stanley Cup championship in the spring of 1928. Pictured are legends Bill and Bun Cook, Frank Boucher, Ching Johnson and coach Lester Patrick. This was the year that the 44-year old Patrick replaced injured goalie Lorne Chabot in the 2nd period of game 2 of the finals against the Maroons. Patrick helped the Blueshirts to an unlikely overtime victory and the Rangers, in just their second season in the NHL, went on to down Montreal 3 games to 2, with Boucher scoring both goals in the 2-1 clincher. All five games were played in Montreal because the Barnum & Bailey Circus occupied Madison Square Garden. Other players pictured are Chabot, Abel, Murdoch, Thompson, Bourgault, Boyd, Gray and Gallighen. Matte-finish VG photo is 11" by 14", with some light creases and a small tear near the bottom left corner only mildly detracting.
