A Chicago Stadium Review playoff program from the Black Hawks' 2-1 overtime win over Montreal in Game 3 of the 1961 semi-final and 10 fascinating photo negatives of action shots from the final against Detroit are featured here. Also included are a pair of Boston Garden ticket stubs from Bobby Hull's 600th goal game late in the 1971-72 season, a 1950s Black Hawks crest and a 1954-55 Nestor Johnson Skate team photo. Please see our website description for more information about this lot. “Series 1, Game 1” is neatly printed in blue ballpoint on the cover of the 1961 semi-final playoff program. Murray Balfour’s goal in the third overtime period of the third game of the series, the first at Chicago Stadium, gave the Black Hawks a 2-1 win and a 2-1 series lead against the reigning five-time Stanley Cup champions. More neat ballpoint notations were made on the lineup pages in the middle of this complete edition of the game program;
The 10 photo negatives each measure a shade under 4x5 and come with modern prints of these shots of mostly goalmouth action from the 1961 final featuring Hall, Pilote, Vasko, St. Laurent, Wharram and others;
Two Boston Garden “Bruins vs. Chicago” ticket stubs from Hull’s 600th goal game are dated March 25, 1972;
Circular 1950s Black Hawks team crest measures 5” in diameter and is nicely preserved;
Black Hawks 1953-54 Nestor Johnson Skates team photo measures 8 1/2" x 11” with substantial vertical and horizontal creases, including one with tears along the top edge. Still very much worthy of display with suitable framing.
