Intriguing trio here dates back to a June 11, 1965 document making official Glen Sather's move from the Red Wings to the Bruins organization after Boston claimed him from Memphis of the CHL in the Inter League Draft, the one-page affair mentioning the $20,000 salary and signed by Detroit's Jimmy Skinner and Boston's Weston W. Adams (HOF - d.1973). Another assignment agreement (1967 - Oklahoma City Blazers to the Bruins) is signed by HOFers Milt Schmidt and Tom Johnson, while Sather's 1967-68 NHL (rookie) contract features the sigs of Schmidt, Sather and NHL president Clarence Campbell. It calls for a $12,000 salary with bonus clauses, which included $500 if the team finishes in a playoff spot and the player plays 37 games or more for the Bruins, as well as an extra $1,000 if the player plays 37 or more games for the Bruins. A quick check reveals Sather spent the entire 1967-68 season in Boston in his first full big-league campaign, playing 65 games, and then three more in the post-season as the Bruins indeed made the playoffs!
