Fan favorite Saku Koivu was in his first season as the Canadiens' captain when this Game One 2000 jersey was prepared for his use in the Habs' first game of the new millennium. Koivu became Montreal's first European captain at the outset of the 1999-2000 season, which proved to be an injury-plagued campaign for the Finnish center. Saku, who was sidelined for the January 2 game against the Rangers, still managed 21 points while limited to 24 games overall because of shoulder and knee injuries. His black marker autograph sits beside the captain's C on the left breast and above the CH crest on the front of his game-issued #11 jersey, which has a Pro Player label and a size 54 flag tag in the back of the neck. One-of-a-kind collection features the Montreal Canadiens’ set of game-worn jerseys from the 24-time Stanley Cup champions’ first NHL game of the new millennium against the New York Rangers at the Molson Centre on January 2, 2000. Each Canadiens player has signed his respective single-use Pro Player jersey, all of which feature a special team stamp in the hem with the date of the game and the Rangers and Habs team logos. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, each of these unique gamers with the “NHL 2000” patch on the right breast will come with a letter of authenticity.
